Our Story
Katie is a jerkyholic and she has always been. While Katie was in college, her favorite snack was beef jerky. However, the jerky she was buying wasn’t good enough. She took matters into her own hands and started making her own jerky. She learned that she was pretty good at it and others thought so as well. So much so, they were using their hard-earned dollars to buy her delicious, unique, Original beef jerky.
Katie earned a degree in engineering and fell in love with manufacturing. She had a successful career as an engineer, though her dream of making the best jerky on the planet was always alive. This passion was so great that in 2014, Katie founded Katie’s Premium Jerky and Snacks.

What is Beef Jerky?
Beef jerky is lean cuts of beef that are marinated in seasoning, then slowly dried to lock in flavor and protein. It’s a chewy, savory snack that’s perfect for road trips, hikes, or just a quick bite anytime.
How long does Beef Jerkey last?
Unopened packs of beef jerky can last several months thanks to the drying process. Once you open a bag, we recommend finishing it within 3–5 days to enjoy the best flavor and texture.
Do I need to refrigerate it?
You don’t need to refrigerate unopened jerky—just keep it in a cool, dry place. After opening, store it in an airtight container or refrigerate if you want to keep it fresh a little longer.
Is your beef jerkey healthy and safe?
Yes! Our beef jerky is packed with protein, making it a great snack for energy and muscle recovery. It’s low in fat and carbs, so it fits well into many diets and active lifestyles.
What makes Katie’s process different?
To start with, WE TAKE OUR TIME.We trim and slice the meat then soak it in the marinade. That’s where it STAYS for DAYS! Then it goes in the dehydrator while our experienced jerky experts watch over it until it reaches perfection. Each and every piece is hand selected for packaging.
What about the meat used by Katie?
The meat we use is always fresh! It’s trimmed so our jerky is 97% fat free. It’s USDA Choice grade beef which is the same quality you would serve up for dinner to your most honored guests! It’s cut with precision so that the slices are consistent, not too thick and not too thin. This allows the jerky to be perfectly tender with the right amount of moisture to hold in the natural beef flavor amidst all of the other seasonings.
Is Jerkey without adding nitrates is safe to it?
We use the cook process to kill harmful bacteria so that the extra chemicals aren’t needed.We make sure it is dry enough (but not too dry!) to prevent mold.Finally, we vacuum seal the bags and add oxygen absorbents so it will be as fresh as the day we pack it! We do not use any preservatives in any of the products we produce.
